Flexible Policies

Flexible retention policies are supported with legal hold of up to 10 years. By default the retention policy is set to one year. Admins can manage connections, edit permssissions, edit retention policies, and enable/disable a legal hold.

Search & Recovery

Admins can perform quick and extensive searches on archived email messages and attachments. End users can easily access their archived email data via the web portal, where they can search, retrieve, and forward past messages.

Can I Import Legacy Data Into The Proofpoint Archive?

Yes. Proofpoint allow you to self-import legacy data into the archive so that you do not have to manage data across multiple solutions when you adopt Proofpoint into your organization. There is no additional charge for this import, and Proofpoint supports zipped EML files up to 80Gb and Exchange exported PST files up to 10Gb.

Which Mail Servers/Hosted Services Is Proofpoint Essentials Archive Currently Compatible With?

We support Exchange 2010, 2013, and 2016, as well as Office 365.

Who Has Access To The Archive Configuration?

Channel/Strategic Partner Admins - have access to their own Archive and administrative privileges to only their direct downstream customer. If the direct downstream customer is a Channel with customer(s) of their own, then the Partner Admin will be able to view the Archive configuration but will not be able to edit it.

‍Organization Admins - have admin access to their own Archive only, as well as access to their Archived emails.

‍End Users - have access to view their own Archived emails. No administrative privileges unless explicitly granted by an admin.

Where Is My Data Stored?

Depending on your location, Proofpoint will store your data in different places. Proofpoint operate two separate data centers in the US for clients deployed there, and two separate EU data centers.
